With the Serial↔Parallel Converter V you can plug directly into the DB9 serial port of a computer and connect to a parallel printer. It operates at serial data rates up to 38.4 kbps, and it receives its power from the RS-232 interface. The Converter automatically orients itself for serial-to-parallel or parallel-to-serial conversion. Other parameters like data rate, flow control method, parity, and word length, are set externally by accessible DIP switches. A single LED indicator monitors five modes including link status.
